Turner Prize 2009 goes to Richard Wright

On Monday night the winner was clear for this years Turner prize. The 25.000 pounds will go to Richard Wright and his fantastic microscopic wall paintings that are produced with medieval printing methods.

Founded in 1984, the Turner prize is a well known prize, that glories the best british Artist under the age of 50 every year again.

Previous winners include the most high-profile names in British art — Damien Hirst, Anish Kapoor and Gilbert and George — as well as several who have since faded from view.

Richard Wright is scottish and lives and works in Glasgow. Wright rounded up his victory in saying: “Thank you for bringing back some skills to the Turner Prize”.
